Job Summary:

The Technical Manager - Telecom BSS is responsible for leading a team of engineers and developers in the delivery and maintenance of BSS product/services. The role involves ensuring that BSS solutions are scalable, reliable, and align with business requirements. The Technical Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, business operations, and customer support, to deliver high-quality BSS product/services.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of engineers and developers focused on BSS systems.
    • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of team members.
  • BSS Solution Development and Implementation:
    • Manage the design, development, and implementation of BSS solutions such as CRM, APIs, Integration and revenue management.
    • Ensure that BSS systems are integrated effectively with other IT systems, including OSS (Operations Support Systems) and third-party systems.
    • Work with architects and product managers to define system requirements and create technical specifications.
    • Lead the development of custom BSS features and enhancements as required by the business.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of BSS roadmap/projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with project managers to ensure alignment of roadmap/project timelines with business objectives.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular roadmap/project updates.
  • System Maintenance and Support:
    • Ensure the ongoing maintenance and support of BSS systems, including issue resolution, system upgrades, and patch management.
    • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of BSS systems.
    • Develop and enforce best practices for BSS system operations and support.
  • Compliance and Security:
    • Ensure that BSS systems comply with industry regulations, standards, and security requirements.
    • Implement security measures to protect sensitive customer data and ensure data integrity.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in telecom BSS.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the BSS domain.
    • Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies and methodologies that enhance the performance and capabilities of BSS systems.

Candidate Profile

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on BSS.
    • Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing BSS product/projects.
    • Strong understanding of telecom BSS domains such as CRM, order management, APIs, Integrations and revenue management.
    • Experience with BSS/OSS integration and system architecture.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong technical background in BSS systems and related technologies.
    • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to telecom BSS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or relevant technical certifications.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based BSS solutions.
